  • Battle of the Books Champions A huge congratulations goes out to our Battle of the Books team who competed in the Regional Grand Battle yesterday at the Halton Hills Public Library.  They battled in the semi-finals against St. Ann and won 59-42, moving them to the finals.  They both battled against St. Benedict and won that battle as well 6—66.  Having won both of those battles means they are the best in Halton!.  Your coaches and school are so proud of you.  Way to go Huskies!

  • News Thursday, March 23rdWe would like to let you know of our Whole School Trip to the John Elliott Theatre. We will be seeing the Live Theatre “Shrek” The date is set for May 11th and we will be walking to the theatre for the 10:00 a.m. show.   The Kindergarten students will be bussed thanks to the generosity of the School Council.So far with our hot dog and popcorn days we have been able to raise enough money that the $12.00 tickets are down to $10.00 for each student.  With the upcoming hot dog and popcorn days next week and then again in April we will hopefully raise enough to keep the cost to you ...

  • Police Checks On-line As of September, 2016, residents of Halton aged 21 and older can apply for Police Information Checks andPolice Vulnerable Sector Checks for employment and volunteer purposes ONLINE 24 hours a day, sevendays a week without having to attend one of our police locations.   • Clothing Drive We are looking to replenish our clothing that we keep on hand for students to borrow. Sometimes students clothing gets soiled through the day and it is great when we have something to change into so they can be more comfortable for learning (mostly, this would be clean dry pants in various size for K - 5 students). Also, with the cold weather coming, we often have a need for additional mittens, hats, snow pants or splash pants for students that have forgotten these items.If your children have outgrown any of these types of items, please think about donating them to the school.   • Hello Volunteers Do you have one or two hours a week or every other week to help in our school library?Increased circulation in our school library was the result of many excellent volunteers here at the Harrison Public School Library. As Teacher Librarian, I am assigned to work in the Library on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  I will also be teaching other classes throughout the school.  This leaves time where students may not be able to find the book he/she wants to sign out because it is on the shelving cart.  Library volunteers allow for increased access to resources for all students in our school.   • Welcome Back! Hello! We hope you are enjoying a safe and happy summer holiday with your families. The first day of school will be on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016. The school will have office staff ready to help new and returning families on Monday, August 22nd, 2016. The class lists (with student numbers) will be posted on the school website on Friday, September 2nd. If you have any questions or are new to the area and would like to register children at Harrison PS, we will be happy to assist you starting on the 22nd.   • Kindergarten Graduation All Junior and Senior Kindergarten students will celebrate graduation on Wednesday June 22nd from 2:00-3:15 PM in the gym. The students will perform 4 songs and the Senior students will receive diplomas. We have seating for 2 family members.
